I am a Conservative, I’ve met John Bercow a number of times as he drinks in my local. He is the rudest man in Christendom.

Far from feeling disloyal, one should see it as their true blue Tory duty to vote him out. If Karl Marx himself rose from the dead and stood in Buckingham, I would vote for him.

Bercow is no more a Tory than I am the man in the Moon. I stood in Buckingham at the last election for UKIP and frankly was appalled at the deceit and dishonesty of his standing as a Tory candidate. Bercow is NOT TORY at heart. I was a Tory for 40 years and finally joined the only party representing true Tory views which is UKIP. Nigel is an excellent candidate who will represent true Tory values at Westminster.

Couldn’t agree more. Austerity message was good for a time, its getting stale and it has scared the voters some what. We must remember the electorate is selfish, they vote based on how things are going to affect their own lives, we need to convince the electorate that a Conservative electorate would help better their lives. If we can, we will win this election. One thing I know for certain is that the people of this great nation know that Gordon Brown will not improve their lives.

Possibly the word “austerity” might conjure images of Stafford Cripps, Clement Attlee’s “austerity chancellor” who seemed to enjoy the privations of the British people a little too much. These thoughts might cross the minds especially of older people, who may influence this election as never before.

I think we need to convey both messages. Concentrate solely on austerity and people will think that things won’t get better on the Tories; focus entirely on aspiration and the electorate will think that the Tories are painting too rosy a picture and are out of touch with the state of the country. This would be hugely ironic as it would be expected more from the Labour party.

Cameron needs to have real people surrounding him. He is now out of touch. His campaign is a mix of negativity ie slating Labour, and opportunism, ie reacting to a headline to get news.

This is another example of Labour lies. The Tories are being honest about the economy. Labour is playing mute. It will have to do the same ie cut spending and raise taxes but it is playing the silence game as the Tories get seen as the tough life. Labour silence = Labour lies.

Top stuff. I agree that Aspiration. the promise of a better tomorrow. Painting a dream and a roadmap how to get there makes sense. So far people just get life will be tough under Conservatives as spending cuts will be tough and of course some taxes may rise.

The (Thank God) was because when he didn’t it showed that they weren’t totally in control of things !
