Obama flew all the way from the US today to Copenhagen to make a direct appeal/plea to the International Olympic Committee for the 2016 Olympics to be held in Chicago. Backing Obama was his wife, Michelle who also gave a heartfelt message of support.
All this to no avail. Chicago was knocked out first, much to everyone’s surprise.
Congratulations to Rio. I am sure that South America will add razzmatazz to the Olympics after the GREAT 2012 London Games.
So time to think for Obama. Perhaps the star is starting to dim……?

Yes. and neither does he deserve a Nobel Peace Prize. Nominations closed 11 days after he had been sworn in as President. Maybe worth the Nobel Peace Prize in 3/4 years, when he may have made tangible achievements but not yet!
CHICAGO A huge sign hung on an office building across from the downtown civic rally in Daley Plaza Friday morning, showing the Chicago 2016 logo, a woman weightlifter and the word “IMAGINE” in capital letters.People were confused. This wasn’t supposed to happen,” said Rob Gray, 40, of Chicago, who arrived at the plaza at 8:30 a.m. local time, more than three hours before the scheduled announcement of the winner.
